Animation Tank

Animation Tank is a new scheme developed and delivered by FILM 15 to pilot how young people can learn vital literacy skills through animation production. The scheme involves expert tuition from professional animator Mikey Ford, children’s writer David Thorpe, music technologist Jim Elliott and writer/filmmaker/director Emma Macey-Storch.

The young people involved have taken part in all stages of the production from learning new techniques for generating stories, understanding character, voice over recording, writing film music, storyboarding, modelling, animation and editing.

Story telling has never been this much fun.

Animation Tank is kindly funded by First Light Movies, The Film Agency For Wales, The Peter Saunders Trust, Powys County Council, FILM 15, The Pink Snowball Film Awards, Machynlleth Primary School, Corris Primary School and Tywyn Primary school.

ANIMATION TANK MACHYNLLETH 2010

Well, we’ve been having a great time making a very special animated fairy tale with 54 young people from Machynlleth Primary School. We don’t want to give anything away yet, but here are a few snaps from the film. It does involve a friendly giant, a very miserable Prince and a quest for the secret to happiness

ANIMATION TANK CORRIS 2010

Animation Tank Corris is well under way. This time we’re making the film look like an old silhoutte animation. It’s another great story which I’m sure you’ll all enjoy. So what happens when the Queen’s jealous sister casts a spell to make everyone forget their beloved Queen and turns the Prince in to a stinky donkey? Will she be able to take over the Kingdom?
